No. 2009 - 18 To approve the Town of Edisto Beach Budget for the fiscal year 2009/2010 and to impose a tax levy therefore. BE IT ORDAINED by the governing body of the Town of Edisto Beach, in council duly assembled, and by the authority of the same: 1. The Town of Edisto Beach fiscal year 2009/2010 budget totaling $4,846,615 with revenues equaling expenditures, a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof is hereby adopted as the budget to the Town of Edisto Beach. 2. The Town of Edisto Beach fiscal year 2009/2010 property tax levy shall be set at 18.8 mills. 3. The billing dates, penalty dates and amount of penalty which shall be levied for delinquent taxes shall be as follows: Taxes are due from the 30th day of September through the 15th day of January. Taxes are delinquent on the 16th day of January with a 3% penalty added, on the 2nd day of February another 7% penalty added, and on the 17th day of March another 5% added. 4. Pursuant to the contract for the tax year of 1986, the Town of Edisto Beach appoints the Colleton County Treasurer as its agent for collection of taxes and penalties. 5. Nothing herein shall prohibit the Town Council to authorize the transfer of appropriated funds from line item to line item within the General Fund, Water Fund or Sewer Fund as necessary to achieve the goal of the budget.
