Dear Member,
The Edisto Beach Police Department is under considerable pressure lately by a small group for political reasons. (See www.ebpoa.org “Edisto Beach Police Under Attack by the Edisto News”) The EBPOA Board voted to make a gift of $200 each to the Police and Fire (EMS) Departments for equipment to show our support. $200 won’t go far to purchase the expensive equipment these departments use but it was a quick way to make a showing and boost morale. We also voted to solicit the membership for a fund to make a more meaningful contribution.
Our Police and Fire Departments do a fine job and are professional in the extreme. I’m alive today through the dedication and professionalism of the EMS. You may have heard of one of our policemen single-handedly arresting three drug dealers in Wyndham recently.
If you want to continue this type of professional response and encourage these fine public servants I urge you to make a donation to the Edisto Beach Police and Firemen Fund at the above address. Any amount you want to contribute will be appreciated.
We will present the initial donations in a ceremony initiated and scheduled by Town Hall in the near future. We hope, through your response, to make the check considerably larger than $200.
